Pollo Rosso – Italian Heritage Chicken Introduced
March 23, 2009
(Kreamer, PA.), March 23, 2009… White Deer Valley Farms introduces Pollo Rosso, a “slow grown” Italian Heritage Breed of whole chickens to selected specialty/gourmet markets and natural/organic retail markets on the east coast. Pollo Rosso’s are never administered antibiotics, and are humanely raised on small sustainable family farms in the heart of Pennsylvania Amish country with every effort being made to duplicate the stress free and slow grown traditions of Italy.
To develop the breeding stock, the eggs were quarantined in Italy and then shipped to the United States where they were re-quarantined under the strictest quality control measures and then released for production.
